  • Compensation$30 per hour

    The Opportunity

As a Frontend Engineer Intern at Centerfield, you'll join our engineering team building intuitive, high-performance consumer-facing web interfaces used by millions of shoppers. You'll ship real features — building new applications from scratch and extending or redesigning existing products, contributing to high-traffic sites like Savings.com.

Our team practices AI-first development: engineers act as architects who direct AI agents, custom skills, and automated workflows to deliver production software. You'll learn to go beyond out-of-the-box tools like Claude Code or Codex — building custom agents, domain knowledge systems, and review processes that turn AI into a force multiplier. We care less about clever code and more about delivering business value.

    How You'll Contribute

    • Build and ship consumer-facing web applications and features, from greenfield builds to redesigns of existing high-traffic sites.
    • Develop responsive, accessible front-end experiences using React, Next.js, and TypeScript, integrating seamlessly with back-end APIs (Node.js, Java).
    • Use and extend our custom AI development harness: agents, skills, and workflow commands to accelerate delivery.
    • Experiment with new ways to apply AI agents to real engineering problems, and share what works with the team.
    • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to turn business goals into shipped features.
    • Participate in the full software development lifecycle: design, build, review, ship, iterate.

    What We're Looking For

    • Genuine curiosity and open-mindedness about AI-driven development — you actively experiment with AI agents and tools, and can show us something cool you've built with them.
    • Solid understanding of modern front-end development: React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS/Tailwind.
    • Exposure to frameworks and runtimes like Next.js and Node.js.
    • Understanding of APIs and how front-ends talk to back-end services.
    • Knowledge of software fundamentals: source control and debugging.
    • Rising seniors or new graduates.
    • Local to Playa Vista HQ and willing to come into the office 3 days a week.
    • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.

    Bonus Points

    • A portfolio, repo, or demo of something you built primarily with AI agents — bonus if you customized the workflow (custom agents, skills, prompt systems, MCP servers, evals).
    • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS).
    • Understanding of REST APIs and web performance.
    • Exposure to Vercel, Docker, or modern deployment tooling.

    Intern Life at Centerfield

    • This is a hybrid position — interns work in our Playa Vista, CA office every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.
    • Outside patio overlooking Playa Vista + cabanas, firepits & working grills.
    • Breakroom with games, couches, workout equipment + weekly in-office exercise classes.
    • Paid charity and volunteer days, unlimited free snacks and drinks, monthly happy hours and catered Thursday lunches.

    The Opportunity

From ensuring our sales agents are compliant, licensed, and ready to sell, to auditing call quality, to executing crucial customer retention and "save" strategies, you will touch it all. You will act as the team’s go-to resource, bridging the gap between Sales, Quality, Operations, and our customers.

    How You'll Contribute

This is a cross-functional operations role supporting multiple areas of the Medicare business. Responsibilities may shift based on business priorities, operational needs, and seasonality. The ideal candidate is adaptable, enjoys variety, and thrives in a dynamic environment.

    Licensing & Contracting Operations

    • Agent Onboarding & Setup: Guide sales agents through the end-to-end appointment and contracting process with major Medicare carriers (e.g., Aetna, Humana, WellCare).
    • Credential Management: Track, verify, and maintain active insurance licenses, AHIP certifications, and carrier writing numbers across multiple states.
    • Portal & Access Management: Assist in setting up and troubleshooting agent access to carrier portals and internal systems to minimize downtime before and during busy selling seasons.
    • Compliance Safeguards: Monitor licensing data to ensure no agent writes business without proper active status and direct TPMO alignment.

Quality Assurance (QA) & Compliance Audit

    • Call & Interaction Auditing: Evaluate inbound and outbound sales, retention, and customer support calls against compliance checklists, Medicare/CMS guidelines, and internal standards.
    • Risk Identification: Review customer grievance data and compliance flags to identify risk themes or gaps in agent training.
    • Feedback Loop: Partner with leadership to document QA findings, highlight common trends, and help craft remedial training or process improvements.
    • Compliance Remediation: Conduct outbound follow-up calls to consumers based on QA findings to clarify missing info, correct documentation, and ensure complete regulatory alignment.

    Lifecycle Retention & Customer Support

    • New Member Engagement: Conduct proactive Welcome Calls and structured touchpoints (at 2, 15, and 45 days post-enrollment) to reinforce plan value, answer benefits questions, and build consumer confidence.
    • Inbound Navigation: Handle inbound member inquiries regarding plan benefits, provider lookups, pharmacy or billing issues, and ID card tracking to resolve problems before they escalate into carrier complaints.
    • Save & Re-Enrollment Activities: Engage with members requesting cancellation. Use empathy and critical thinking to identify root causes, resolve friction points, and — when appropriate — re-enroll the consumer into a more suitable product within QuoteManage.
    • Provide Third Party Verification for all Medicare enrollments.

    The Opportunity

Centerfield is hiring a Sr. Director, Organic Growth & AI Discovery to scale our AI Discovery business while strengthening organic performance across our digital brands. This is a commercial leadership role for someone who understands search deeply and knows how to turn audience reach, trusted content, and emerging discovery opportunities into a growing business.

You will lead the Organic Growth and Web Publishing team and work closely with Content, Sales, Corporate Marketing, Product, Engineering, Communications, and our AI & Automation team.

    How You'll Contribute

    Build the AI Discovery business
    • Lead day-to-day growth of our AI Discovery offering: packaging, pricing recommendations across performance, hybrid, and flat-fee models, forecasting, and performance against revenue and profitability goals.
    • Turn search and AI-visibility insights into compelling advertiser strategies and proposals; participate directly in sales conversations and client presentations.
    • Connect commercial commitments to delivery capacity with Sales and functional leads before commitments are made.
    • Build repeatable delivery and client-reporting practices so signed deals are scoped into content and placement work quickly.

Lead organic growth across the portfolio

    • Set portfolio-wide organic growth strategy, methodology, and priorities (SEO, AEO, and GEO) tied to qualified traffic, conversions, and gross profit.
    • Diagnose organic performance declines and algorithm or AI-platform changes, and lead recovery plans with accountable owners.
    • Shape the technical search roadmap with Product and Engineering across crawlability, indexation, information architecture, internal linking, structured data, and site templates.
    • Run focused tests with Content and Communications on how authoritative content and earned mentions contribute to discovery.

    Make performance clear and actionable

    • Own the measurement framework and recurring reporting across organic performance, AI visibility, sponsorship results, delivery quality, and capacity.
    • Lead weekly operating reviews and substantive monthly reviews by business segment.
    • Proactively educate the company on algorithm changes, AI-search developments, tools, results, and emerging opportunities.

Lead the team and improve operations

    • Manage and develop the organic growth and publishing teams, coaching for analytical judgment and accountability for results.
    • Align priorities with Content Leads and business leaders before work begins; make tradeoffs explicit when priorities conflict.
    • Partner with AI & Automation to improve publishing, QA, sponsorship placements, and reporting workflows.
    • Own the Organic Growth budget, tool stack, and vendor relationships.

    What We're Looking For

    • Commercial ownership: experience building or materially growing a revenue-generating business, product, or service with personal accountability for results.
    • Deep search expertise, typically 10+ years in organic growth for a content publisher, affiliate, or lead-generation business.
    • Practical AI-search experience with AEO and GEO experimentation and measurement.
    • Hands-on analytical judgment across Google Search Console, GA4, Looker Studio, crawl tools, and AI-visibility platforms.
    • Technical depth in crawl, indexation, structured data, and CMS platforms such as WordPress.
    • Team leadership experience managing and developing teams and managers across commercial, editorial, product, and technical functions.
    • Executive-ready communication and client-facing presence.
    • Comfort leading through ambiguity as the team finishes the shift from an SEO function to an organic growth business.

    Bonus Points

    • Experience in agency and services businesses, particularly with sponsorship or advertiser-funded programs.
    • Experience monetizing organic audiences beyond affiliate revenue through AEO or GEO programs and content partnerships.
    • Using AI and automation (for example, n8n, Airtable, Zapier) to improve growth, reporting, or publishing workflows.
    • Conference speaking or published thinking on AI search.
    • Multi-brand experience across verticals such as home services, insurance, senior care, security, e-commerce, or B2B.
